Frequently Asked Questions
How do I do a mobile deposit?
Please ensure that the back of the check is signed and that you write, “For Mobile Deposit Only at SSCFCU." This step is crucial.
Once you are logged into your mobile app, click on the menu. It resembles three horizontal lines.
From there, select “Mobile Deposit.” This will open a page where you need to enter the exact amount of the check. Below that, choose where you want the deposit to go (e.g., Share, Share Draft, etc.).
"Tap to take a photo of the check," and it will ask you to take a photo of the front. Please ensure it's on a flat surface with good lighting so we can see it clearly. Then, you will need to flip the check over and take a photo of the back. Please make sure you capture the entirety of the check.
When that is finished, you click “next” to review the check. Please make sure that the photos are clear and well-lighted and that the signature and endorsement are clear.
The last steps are to submit and deposit the check.
Why is my account closed? And where did my money go?
After 2 years of inactivity, a $5 monthly fee will be charged to the account. On April 15th of every year, all accounts with 3 or more years of inactivity and remaining funds are sent to the Pennsylvania Treasury Department.
Please visit their website here to search for any missing funds that may belong to you.
How do I make loan payments?
There are several ways to make a loan payment.
You can pay in person at one of our two convenient offices. Please bring a valid ID, cash, or a personal check. You can also initiate a transfer from your savings or checking account with us through our Online Banking, either as a one-time payment or on a recurring basis.
With your written permission, we can arrange for an automatic transfer at our office to withdraw from your share or draft account on your agreed-upon payment date. Additionally, you can use the “Bill Pay” method from another financial institution. Be sure to include your account number followed by the loan number. For example, if your account number with us is 12345 and the loan ID is 2, in the “notes” section associated with the payment, you would write “12345 LN 2.” This will help us ensure your payment is directed to the correct account and loan.
What is a credit union?
A credit union is a cooperative, not-for-profit financial institution organized to promote thrift and provide credit to members. It is member-owned and controlled by a board of directors elected by the membership. The board serves on a volunteer basis and may hire a management team to run the credit union. The board also establishes and revises policy, sets dividend and loan rates, and directs certain operations. The result: members are provided with a safe, convenient place to save and borrow at reasonable rates at an institution that exists to benefit them, not to make a profit.
I moved/changed jobs! Do I have to close my account?

What is the purpose of a credit union?
The primary purpose of furthering their goal of service is to encourage members to save money. Another purpose is to offer loans to members. In fact, credit unions have traditionally made loans to people of ordinary means. Credit unions can charge lower rates for loans (as well as pay higher dividends on savings) because they are nonprofit cooperatives. Rather than paying profits to stockholders, credit unions return earnings to members in the form of dividends or improved services.
Are savings deposits insured?
Yes. All savings accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA, the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the federal government. This is extended to every member associated with an account. For example, if a husband and wife have a joint account with us, the insured amount would be $500,000.
Who can join a credit union?
A credit union exists to serve a specific group of people, such as a group of employees or the members of a professional or religious group. This is called a “field of membership.” The field of membership may include where they live, where they work, or their membership in a social or economic group.
